"Tatha Festival" is the annual grand event of the Taipei Xiahai City God Temple—a vibrant birthday party connecting tradition with modern style! 2026 marks the 206th anniversary of the City God’s arrival in Taiwan, and Luguo Cafe is deeply honored to celebrate this sacred occasion with our finest specialty coffee.
The exclusive packaging is crafted by InBlooom, a designer brand long-rooted in Dadaocheng. The lively illustration beautifully depicts General Fan, General Xie, and the City God dancing joyfully together to celebrate. By elegantly translating folk culture into modern design, this coffee is not just a delicious drink, but a vessel carrying the rich stories of Taipei's historic old town.
To echo the lively midsummer celebration of the City God's birthday in May, Luguo Cafe specially curated this signature blend, crafted perfectly for cold brew and iced serving.
Located in the heart of Dadaocheng, the Taipei Xiahai City God Temple has long been a vital spiritual center in the Taipei area. An old Taiwanese saying goes: "Enthusiastic for Mazu in March, welcoming the City God in May." During the Japanese colonial period, special train schedules were even added from north to south just to accommodate the massive crowds of believers.
In 2026, the temple collaborates with the Dadaocheng Creative Street District Development Association to host the "Tatha Festival". The festival features traditional opera performances, religious processions, rituals, troupe performances, exhibitions, the Island Music Festival, and local shop collaborations. Through this joint coffee brew bag, we hope to invite everyone back to the historic town, exploring the timeless stories of Dadaocheng from a fresh perspective.
